What Is In Scope for 1st February, 2014…

Right, we’re in the home straight and we need to ensure we’re working on the right things. There is a lot of confusion about what is in scope for 1st February, 2014 and what is waived and/or niche. In this post, I will highlight those processes that will be obsolete post 1st February, 2014.

Unless your bank / service provider has a specific solution and can handle the legacy format / process, you should concentrate on converting the following to SEPA. If you’re using one of the following, you or your business team will know the existing process and for questions relating to the conversion to SEPA I suggest you contact your bank / service provider right away.

Austria – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments:
  • Domestic payments = Edifact V3 paymul
• Direct Debits:
  • Edifact V3 Dirdeb – Einzugsermächtigung
  • Edifact V3 Dirdeb – Lastschriftverfahren

Belgium – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • CIRI domestic payments (layout 128 & 360)
  • CIRI international payments (layout 128 & 1440) in Euro and within SEPA only
• Direct Debits
  • CIRI DOM80 (layout 128 & 180)

France – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • Virement – Domestic payments – CFONB160 format
  • Cross border payments – CFONB320 format – in Euro and within SEPA only
• Direct Debits
  • Prélèvement – Domestic direct debit collections via CFONB160 format

Germany – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • DTAUS – domestic payments
  • DTAZV – cross border payments – in Euro and within SEPA only
• Direct Debits
  • Einzugsermächtigung – most widely used direct debit scheme – DTAUS
  • Abbuchungsauftrag – direct debit scheme used by businesses – DTAUS

Ireland – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • Domestic payments – via STD18 / EMTS
• Direct Debits
  • Direct debits via Direct Debiting Scheme

Italy – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • Domestic payments via BONI PC, also referred to as CBI BON
  • Cross border payments via BONI PE, also referred to as CBI BONE – in Euro and within SEPA only
• Direct Debits
  • Domestic direct debit collections via RID Ordinari
  • Direct debit collections used by businesses via RID Veloci

The Netherlands – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • Domestic payments via CLIEOP03 format
• Direct Debits
  • Direct debit collections via CLIEOP03 for:
    • General direct debits – Doorlopende machtiging algemee
    • Business direct debits – Doorlopende machtiging bedrijven
    • One off direct debits – Eenmalige machtigin
    • Not sure about the details of this one – Doorlopende machtiging Kansspelen

Portugal – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • Domestic payments – PS2
• Direct Debits
  • Direct debit collections – EDR

Spain – SEPA In Scope:

• Payments
  • Domestic payments – CSB34 and CSB34-1
• Direct Debits
  • Direct debit collections via CSB19
